Overview
The HIOKI LR8431 Memory HiLOGGER is engineered for demanding measurement environments where accuracy, speed, and reliability are essential. With full isolation across all 10 analog channels, plus 4 pulse/rotation input channels, it captures voltage, thermocouple temperature, and pulse signals with minimal interference. Thanks to its 10 ms sampling across all channels and ability to record via USB flash drive or CompactFlash, it’s suited for R&D, industrial, automotive, and laboratory applications. The rugged build, bright wide LCD display, and optional battery power add portability without sacrificing performance.
Key Features
-
Ten (10) electrically isolated analog input channels capable of measuring DC voltage and temperature via thermocouples.
-
Four (4) pulse/rotation input channels (for count accumulation, RPM, etc.).
-
High-speed sampling: 10 ms across all analog channels.
-
Dual storage media: supports both USB flash drives and CF cards; during real-time recording you can swap media without stopping measurement (within limits).
-
Improved temperature measurement accuracy for thermocouples. For example, with K-type thermocouples at ~50°C, previous models had ±3°C error; LR8431 improves to approx ±1.5°C.
-
Fully isolated analog inputs to reduce cross-channel interference and enhance safety in mixed-potential environments.
-
Wide and bright QVGA TFT LCD for waveform monitoring and real-time status.
-
Compact, portable design (~176 × 101 × 41 mm, 550g without optional battery).
-
AC adapter support (100-240V) + optional battery pack (model 9780) for field use.
Applications
The LR8431 is especially suited for:
-
Electric / hybrid vehicle (EV / HV / PHV) development: for measuring motor / inverter behavior under rapidly changing loads.
-
Industrial process monitoring: multi-point voltage and temperature logging in power electronics, HVAC, renewable energy systems.
-
Performance testing of air-conditioning, cooling, and thermal insulation systems.
-
Electronic component development: internal temperature profiling, PCB / module thermal behavior.
-
Lab research & qualification testing where isolated inputs, accurate thermocouple measurement, and fast sampling are critical.
